WHAT IS UPVC WINDOWS & DOORS

uPVC or PVCu is a form of plastic and stands for unplasticised polyvinyl chloride. It is also known as rigid PVC due to the fact that it is hard and not flexible. It is a resistant from of PVC that is often used for pipework and window frames.

 

Maximum Wind Resistance :

TSIL uPVC Window and door Systems are ideal for being installed in building close to the sea, where there are exposed to strong winds, heavy rain and salty water. All windows and door systems can take a wind pressure of 2400PA (approx. 230 Km Per hr.). Tests specified in BS (British Standard) 5368, Part 3.

 

Maximum Water Tightness:

One of the main assets of TSIL window and door Systems is their resistance to driving rain & their joint tightness. They are designed to be water tight when tested up to 300PA, limited specified in BS 3675 Performance of windows part 1 1989, classification for weather tightness.

 

Minimal Maintenance:

TSIL uPVC window and door systems do not require regular painting and expensive maintenance. They do not rot, wrap nor corrode in tropical and coastal climate. The maintenance is minimal and does not involve any further costs.

 

Fire Resistance:

TSIL uPVC materials do not support combustion, in fact they are self-extinguishing. Throughout their product life, the material will not cause, support or enhance the natural development of fire. The profile compound possesses a fire retardant rating according to DIN 4102, also fulfills Class 1 fire resistance as defined in BS 476: part 7.

 

Longevity :

TSIL uPVC profiles maintain excellent inherent material properties. The windows and doors are attractive, perfectly tight and working well even after many years in use. The longevity and superior quality of this material has been conclusively proven over 30 years.

 

 

UV Stable :

TSIL uPVC windows and doors are completely UV stable and uPVC blend used is especially suitable for tropical climates. The material does not alter under extreme temperatures or weathering.

High Acoustic / Sound Insulation :

The Protection against noise is an essential characteristic of a modern window, in order to ensure a comfortable life both at home and in office. TSIL uPVC and doors insulates up to 40 db which comes up to the German DIN stand for sound insulation Class 5, DIN 4109.

 

 

Thermal Insulation :

TSIL uPVC profile are multi chambered section, provided with unique double seal mechanism, multi point locking systems and good combination of glass, makes the window perfectly sealed and thereby reduces energy loss.

 

Energy Efficient :

TSIL uPVC window and door systems are excellent thermal insulators. It can save energy up to 30% of energy requirement.

 

 

 

INSTALLATION:

– Window/doors joining walls should be plastered from inside as well as outside. The opening in which the new window shall be installed shall be free from any obstruction. The sill should be well plastered.
– In case of the doors the floorings should be complete.
– Each window should be adequately and properly shimmed to the plumb level,
– The opening shall be measured at three points both in width and height as under, the variation between maximum and minimum size in case of width and also in height should not exceed 12 mm
– The width of the sill to be more than the window frame width
– Clear guidelines to be given whether window to be internally flushed or externally flushed or what space to be left whether outside or inside if the sill level is more.
– The installation shall commence only after one coat of paint, it should also be ensured that there is no plaster of Paris work done on the joining face of the window to the wall.
– In case the grills are to be installed for slider windows and inward opening window it should be installed before the installation of the window, in case of outward opening window it should be installed after the installation of the window.
